Pan

Name: Pan, True Name: Pantalaimon
Gender: Stallion
Age: 5
Species: Unicorn
Most Likely Found: The Far Plains
Abilities: None
Family: Dam - Alkaia; Sire - Tanix
Other Relations: Grandsires - Argo, Andai (deceased); Granddams - Leda, Alala (deceased); Uncles - Turnus, Castor, Pollux, Janus (deceased); Aunts - Juturna, Helen; Cousin – Fontus
Description: Pan is a pangere colored horse. His body fades from brown on the head into a tan at the shoulders, and his underbelly, around his eyes, and his muzzle are white. The white of his nose also extends halfway up the top of his muzzle, like a blaze, and he has a white stocking on his left front leg. All four legs fade to a blackish color above the knees, like a bay's would, so does the tip of his tail right before the tassle starts, and the tips of his ears and nose are also black. He has a blackish mane and tail, the undersides of which are mixed with brown hairs, and his hooves and horn are a dark tan or dirt color. His eyes are a deep blue grey, and the most unique features Pan posesses are the light greyish Bend Or Spots on his hindquarters, the two blue feathers in his mane, and the red hawk feather in his tail. When his beard grows in it will be white.
Personality: Though friendly if he knows you, Pan can be taken as rude and stand-offish if he doesn't. Loneliness doesn't bother him a bit, and he sometimes prefers it, but he also doesn't mind a small group of company at times - not to talk to, just to be around for that feeling of comfort. He's never one to make a big deal about something, or be confrontational, though he'll usually speak his mind to one or two others at a time if he feels it's necessary. Always an active colt, Pan counts himself as an adventurer of sorts, and is happiest exploring new places, hearing lays, or just running across the plains.
Background: Pan doesn't have much of a history. Never has. He grew up on the plains, living an average plainsdweller life, with no great trauma or adventure of any kind happening to him. His mother, Alkaia, was a Valedweller who ran away from the Vale after seeing her parents and lover killed in the battle of Ending Fire. In the plains, she met a handsome stallion at a Longdance, and conceived Pan. Not long before Pan was born, his sire left, in the traditional roaming nature of the plains unicorns, to wander around with his brother, Castor, for a while. Alkaia then met up with the mare Dustback, whom she became friends with. The mare helped her foal Pan, and helped with his raising for a little while before moving off. For the next several years Pan roamed with his mother, learning the plains dweller life, along with traditions and nuances associated with the Vale. He inherited his mother's love and skill for running, and she also taught him how to be a good tracker. He met his father a few times in those years after he was born, but never particularly missed him when he wasn't around. At a proper age, Pan parted ways with his mother, sad to be gone from her, but excited nonetheless to be out on his own. He has been traveling the plains ever since, in hope for some great adventure to show up.

Milo - Wartime/Hiatus

Name: Milo, True Name: Mi'londir
Gender: Stallion
Age: 8
Species: Unicorn
Most Likely Found: The Vale
Abilities: Warrior
Family: Unknown
Other Relations: None
Description: Has the regular build of a vale unicorn. Main color is a greyish-brown, with a dark grey mane, tail, feathers, and beard. A dark grey dorsal stripe runs from the base of his mane to the tail tassle, and there's a dark grey marking that comes down his nose from the base of his forelock, creating a kite shape around his horn. A dark grey stripe runs from each eye to the nostril on the same side, and a white stripe is under that. A white stripe runs down each side of the base of his mane, and turn downward at the shoulder, curving inward, outlined on the inside by a dark grey stripe. His ear tassles are dark grey, and his hooves and horn are both jet black. He has two white back stocking, and grey eyes.
Personality: Once prone to laziness, as he trained to become a warrior that was forced out of him. He likes to be doing things, and wants to know what's going on at all times. He never stops going, and is very confident in what he does, even if he messes up. He sticks to his thoughts, which can sometimes get him in trouble.
Background: Born and lived in the Vale all of his life, though he has explored close parts of the Pan Woods and the Near Plains.

Orka

Name: Orka
Gender: Stallion
Age: 10
Species: Unicorn
Most Likely Found: The Far Plains
Abilities: None
Family: Family: Dam - Fairsha, Sire - Illonius
Other Relations: He has taken a strong liking to Briar
Description: Dark Teal Dun/Appy with zebra markings and a gradient "wave" blanket. He has markings on all four legs, differing in size, and he has an orca whale-like marking on his face that starts around his eyes, then extends into a blaze that reaches under his muzzle and down the front of his beard.
Personality: Ork is very shy. He doesn't approach other unicorns; they must approach him first and speak softly. He's very easily startled. Poor thing hasn't had the greatest life.
Background: Orka was from the Vale, and knew Reina, though neither became friends. Orka is a secluded soul, careful not to get lose to anyone, for he believes that they will betray him. His dam, Fairsha, was old for a mare to give birth. Her mind was slipping, some due to old age, while the other reason was of ill treatment by her mate (Orka's sire), Illonius. She mistreated young Orka, under the watchful eye of Illonius. He never once praised his son for doing anything good, but scolded him for everything he did bad, though his scolding was far worse than the other unicorns his age received. His mother would join in, sometimes getting a bit carried away. Her mind would retreat to the old days, where she was young and fit, and a warrior. She "battled" Orka, beating him unconcious. Both parents died a few years later, Orka's pain ceased as each drew their last breath. Though his parents passed, he still feels them around him. He doesn't converse with anyone, afraid that he will be beaten again. He keeps his distance and even the faintest sound startles him. A lonely year later, he gathered up the courage to leave the safety of the Vale and wandered off, in search of himself. Secretly, he longed for a companion, or even a mate, to scare away his loneliness and bring to him the joy he has yet to feel.
Belongs to ReinaStarr, I am just playing him for her

Castor

Name: Castor
Gender: Stallion
Age: 10
Species: Unicorn
Most Likely Found: Anywhere on the Plains
Abilities: None
Family: Sire - Argo; Dam - Leda; Half sister - Juturna; Half brother - Turnus; Sister - Helen; Brothers - Tanix, Pollux (twin)
Other Relations: Nephews - Pantalaimon, Fontus
Description: Castor's base color is the traditional bay with the dark nose and lower legs, and a black mane and tail. However, he is covered in various white paint spots and one black paint marking that covers his face. Each spot is framed with a lightened version of its color, and the white marking on his left hind leg has small brown spots inside it, the same color as his base coat. The parts of the main and beard that touch his black face marking are white, and his ear tips are white as well. His horn fades from black at the bottom, to tan, and then back to black at the tip. His eyes are two different colors, the left being a deep brown and the right being a light blue. His softer points, behind his front legs, just in front of and under his back legs, and the point of his neck behind his ears are all a soft, golden color.
Personality: He is a very arrogant and prideful stallion, stemming from years of people telling him he's handsome. Despite this, he's never so much as danced with a mare, feeling they are not worth his time and effort, and not wanting to know that he’s responsible for any foal. He also feels that he can do most anything, causing him to be a bit reckless and a large show-off. However, he fears heights and will rarely partake in an activity that involves them. He likes to be a trouble maker and is rather rude, yet he can be nice and will joke around with someone he respects (though there aren't many people he feels that way about). Very hard-headed, and takes offense easily. When asked about Vale dwellers, he tends to come off with the attitude that they are beneath him, feeling they are soft and weak because they live a seemingly sheltered life, a hatred he’s engrained in himself.
Background: Background: Castor was born in the Vale, along with his twin brother Pollux, to Leda and Argo. The two colts were quite the trouble makers and grew up very close. They were very much alike and couldn’t be separated. However, not long before their initiation, Castor fell into a huge argument with their dam about something pointless. Being stubborn he left the Vale to go out and live among the Plains. When asked of his origins, which for a while were quite obvious, he would deny having lived in the Vale at any point, or of knowing anyone within in. It didn’t take long for him to believe his own lie, and now he has very little memory of his foalhood, except one that’d he made up of being raised on the Plains. It took a while longer for his Vale ways and accent to slip away but they finally did, and after a while no one even thought to ask if he was once a Vale Dweller, helping more with his denial. Not too long after being on the Plains Castor came across his older brother Tanix, who was with the mare Alkaia. It was obvious she was pregnant, and Castor, not one for foals, started coaxing his brother to leave the mare behind. His brother finally gave in and parted with Alkaia, though neither held resentment towards each other. Castor commended him on his decision, and together the two brothers set off across the plains. The brothers traveled together for almost a year, Tanix helping teach Castor all the ways of the Plains that he himself had learned, before Castor's brother tired of Castor's mischievous and rude ways. Castor had grown used to his brother's company, and was actually quite sad to see him go. That sadness soon turned to resentment, however, and he figured he'd be better off without his "soft" brother. Once more he tried to push away the existence of a family member, though not as firmly as his family from the Vale, whom he would still put below everyone else. He's wandered the Plains since, sometimes picking up a companion for a day or two, but usually leaving them before becoming too attached.

Tooantuh

Name: Tooantuh (meaning ‘spring frog’) “Teddy”
Gender: Colt
Age: 5 years
Species: First Gen. Dayan Cross
Most Likely Found: Anywhere he can get his hooves into
Abilities: None
Family: Unknown
Other Relations: Shoulder Friends – Vern, Gordie, and Chris
Description: His base color is an olive green with lighter yellow-green soft points between his back legs, under his front legs, and at his throat. The olive green is spattered with a dark green in a frame overo pattern. These spots are outlined with black at random intervals. A white blaze covers the front of his face, reaching from the base of his forelock to the bottom of his chin. One of the green spots wraps around both brown eyes, which are rimmed with a ring of black fur inside the green spots, and connects between the two over the white blaze. A white pastern marking covers his back right leg, and is interrupted by a few olive green spots inside the white. His mane and tail are light brown with natural blonde highlights, and he holds a silver horn, and dark grey hooves. As a Dayan he has the tail and horn of a true unicorn, but his feathering is lighter, he has the short, bushy mane of a Da, and he will not grow a beard. His most distinguishing feature is the fact that most of both of his ears are missing. What’s left of the bases are ragged, and dark fur rims the top in place of where it grew back over the scars. Because of this, he has bad hearing.
Personality: He can basically be described as wild and crazy, even to his shoulder friends, who think it has something to do with the trauma he experienced as a colt. Despite his poor hearing, he is reckless and exhibits dangerous behavior daily, prone to taking dares. He idolizes his father, and is very protective of his sire’s reputation (despite how terrible it is), leading to a lot of false pride. If someone questions his dad’s or even his own sanity he will become quite defensive, his quick temperament easily leading him into fights. When he isn’t fighting or pulling some wild stunt he comes off as a joker and an eccentric. He’s lacks any bit of tact, and comes of quite obnoxious to most for his ability to say whatever he pleases. He doesn’t mind hurting other’s feelings, and regularly picks on anyone he can, almost using it as his form of communication. Despite all his crazy behavior he does not like swimming, having never been good at it, and is unwilling to get in water that would be above his head. An acute fear of leeches also contributes to his aversion of water. Darkness also scares him to a degree, given the inability to hear most things around him, when during the daytime he’d cope by seeing them.
Background: Teddy’s mother was a Da, accepted into the Vale after she made the trip to the Mere to become a Dayan. His father, a full Vale unicorn, took her as a mate after the battle of Ending Fire, and a year later Teddy was born. They lived quite happily for some time, though his father showed small spells of insanity, always some illusion of being back in battle. One day while he was alone with Teddy in the grotto, something sent him into one of his spells, and he attacked Teddy, not stopping until the colt’s mother came squealing back into the cave. By the time she got there though, his father had torn off most of his left ear and half of his right, leaving bloody stumps which resulted in his damaged hearing. Teddy’s sire, realizing what a danger he was, reluctantly left to live on his own out in the Pan Woods. Over the years after Teddy recovered, his mother would take him to visit his father, and despite what happened to him he always loved his dad as much as ever, wanting to follow in his footsteps and become a great war hero. Teddy learned to cope with his hearing, and over the years has grown to be more-or-less a normal colt, spending lots of time with his shoulder friends Chris, Vern, and Gordie.

Nim’lok

Name: Nim’lok “Nim”
Gender: Stallion
Age: 16
Species: Vale Unicorn
Most Likely Found: The Vale
Abilities: None
Family: Io (Daughter), Sek (Son), Illonius (Uncle, deceased), Orka (Cousin)
Other Relations: None Yet
Description: Nim’s base coat is the teal of a deep, clear sea, with his gray skin showing through on his muzzle and around his eyes. His legs, face, and underside fade into a lighter shade of teal, and dapples of this same color are sprinkled over the base color. Covering his body are spots of varying sizes, all of them a dark teal, and his mane, tail, most of his beard, horn, and back hooves are all about this color. White socks adorn his front legs, causing those hooves to be a light, robin’s egg blue. An odd white blaze covers his face, stretching down over his eyes and trickling down the front of his lips to turn the very front of his beard white. His eyes are the same dark teal as his spots.
Personality: A lot of unicorns find Nim to be cold and distant. Because of his nature of thinking with his mind than with his heart, he never shows much sympathy, or emotion of any kind. Others feel that he is this way because he feels too good for them, and there would be some truth in the statement. He doesn’t specifically put anyone down, but Nim does feel that those who can’t understand or at least respect his way of thinking are less logical than he. He values intelligence, and usually seeks either isolation, or the presence of people that will make him think. It’s these traits that he admires in his mate, and though he’s never told anyone besides her, he truly does love her. He loves his children as well, but has never outright told them, figuring instead that actions are stronger than words. He is a devoted father, and protective, but he knows when to leave his foals be to learn their lesson. He is confident in himself, and is rarely bothered by the harsh words of others.
Background: The same bluish stallion that sired the abusive Illonius also had an older son. He raised neither of his sons fairly. He was an awful father, constantly berating the colts for things they did and didn’t do. He expected them to be perfect, but he seemed to forget their coltish instincts to be rowdy and mischievous, only making him angrier at them. His harsh rule formed Illonius into an abusive father, and though the older son didn’t fare as badly, he definitely was not a happy unicorn either.
The older son learned that emotions only ever ended up hurting you in the end, and over the years he conditioned himself to live mostly without them. Once out of his sire’s rule, he spent all his time to learning, figuring it was the only thing worth doing if emotions meant nothing. He made few friends, and instead went through all the Vale customs with only a need to complete them because they were traditions. This was why he went to the Summer Sea and took a mate, for there was certainly no love behind the action. He and the mare only found their union necessary; procreating was just another of their duties. This was the home Nim was born into, one with emotions being slowly bred out of it.
Nim was raised strictly, his sire insisting upon being in charge of teaching him everything. Emotions were looked down upon, and he quickly learned to hide them. He grew up exactly as his father, but since he was taught from the beginning to think instead of feel, it came more naturally to him. So, though he still seemed distant, there was a comfort and confidence about him that his father didn’t possess.
He met others calmly if they seemed to respect his ways, and it was this way that he one day introduced himself to a mare. She turned out to be highly intelligent as well, and though she was completely in sync with her emotions, he was drawn to her. He found her presence stimulating mentally, and, as he soon came to accept and even like, she also made him feel. He rarely showed it, but she soon came to know it was there, and it wasn’t long before they were mated.
They had a colt, Sek, and Nim tried to teach his son the logic behind life and the benefits to controlling ones emotions. Sek was quite taken by the idea at a young age, but when he started to get picked on by other foals for his seemingly cold demeanor he became a bit ashamed. He started to only keep the calm façade around Nim and his mother, but slowly he stopped trying to hide his emotions even then. Nim was disappointed, and expressed this to Sek, but his son was unperturbed. Nim tried to get him to keep his ways, but Sek soon became annoyed with the pressure, and left the Vale.
Before he’d left, Nim’s second foal had been born, his daughter Io. He raised her as he did Sek, and quickly realized that his daughter seemed tougher than her brother. She became his pride and joy, and it was this favoritism, hidden but still noticeable by family, that helped into turning Sek away. Nim was sorely let down by Sek’s departure, but was annoyed more by the presence of that emotion. Quickly, he decided to turn the emotion into something useful, and turned it into a need to better teach Io so that she might not end up as Sek had.

Eidolon

Name: Eidolon “Io”
Gender: Mare
Age: 4
Species: Vale Unicorn
Most Likely Found: The Vale
Abilities: None
Family: Nim’lok (Father), Sek (Brother)
Other Relations: None Yet
Description: Most of Io’s body is silvery grey in color. Her horn is a medium shade of grey, and all four hooves are a pale tan. Her mane, tail, beard, and even ear tassels start pure white at the base and fade through different shades of grey until it reaches a charcoal grey at the ends. The only color on her body is located in the splotches that seem to mostly originate on her soft points and legs. These small patches are a beautiful robin’s egg blue, fading into a teal on the spots on her legs and face. Her eyes are seemingly as colorless as most of her body is, being a very light grey. She is thin, yet strong, and though she is below average height currently, she will grow to be taller than most mares. The only thing that can really be said against her features are her little bit too big ears, which she will never fully grow in to.
Personality: Io is a lot like her father in personality. She presents a face of calm and calculating confidence, and she puts a lot of stock into learning. She highly respects her father and mother, and loves her brother, but she is awkward around anyone else since her confidence isn’t as good as she would have it seem. She is not nearly as comfortable with herself as Nim is, and is constantly trying to maintain her emotions. Thought she is sure in her intelligence, the fact that she feels that she struggles with her emotions really breaks her self-esteem. She cannot control her emotions as her father wants her to, and she is ashamed at the emotions she does feel, making her feel flawed and different from everyone else. She thrives under the praise and friendship of others (as she did with her brother), but she does not very noticeably return the emotions, making others tend to feel that she is snobby. When she speaks, she only speaks what is necessary, and is usually very blunt and honest. She has a strong personal interest in lays, songs, and dances, along with any games that make her think, but it's not often that she partakes in them.
Background: Io was born into a home ruled by logic, and not emotion. Her father, Nim, taught her these from the day of her birth, and she quickly caught on. As she expressed emotion to her family, he would look down on them, and ask her to describe the need to show these things. At first she would just stare blankly at him, and as she grew and realized that she couldn’t exactly find a good reason, she understood that he was right. Early on she was confused by her mother’s free range of expression. When she asked her mother one day she was told that she was raised differently, but Io was allowed to show emotions if she really wanted to. Nim would not stop her.
This confused Io for a time, since Nim didn’t encourage feeling, but she soon came to realize that it was just a difference. She would have emotions still; she would just be ultimately controlling them. Intrigued, she agreed to her father’s teachings fully.
Since most of her’s and her brother, Sek’s, time was taken up with learning, they rarely played with other foals. By the time Io was born Sek had started being made fun of for his “strange” demeanor by others, and so he’d mostly stopped playing with them. Io grew up for several years thinking that this was just natural, playing with her brother alone. The siblings were close, and Io was the first to notice Sek’s change. She was confused at first when he would take her to play with others, and suddenly he’d be acting different; laughing and smiling like their mother did. When Io asked him about it he told her that others didn’t understand their father’s logic, and so he figured he might as well act “normal” when around people besides family. Though Io didn’t think this agreed with Nim’s teachings, she agreed to keep her brother’s secret.
So, it was with a calm, unsurprised expression that Io watched Sek walk out some time later. She’d figured it would happen soon enough. That didn’t stop her from running after her brother after he was out of sight of the grotto and Nim, and burying her face in his side as a goodbye. He promised to come back and see her, and she let him go. Feeling deeply hurt, she walked back to the grotto, sick of the emotions that seemed to weigh her down. She hated the sadness, and when she stepped back into her family’s cave she had resolved that emotional control was necessary, and to distract herself with knowledge.

Pollux

Name: Pollux
Gender: Stallion
Age: 10
Species: Unicorn
Most Likely Found: The Near Plains
Abilities: None
Family: Sire - Argo; Dam - Leda; Half sister - Juturna; Half brother - Turnus; Sister - Helen; Brothers - Tanix, Castor (twin)
Other Relations: Nephews - Pantalaimon, Fontus
Description: Pollux is a ruddy orange paint with vibrant orange on his soft spots (between front and back legs and on the throat) and legs that fade to black. His paint splotches that cover his chest, neck, sides, and tail are all very dark gray, with smaller orange spots showing through. His face, however, is covered in white, with three small black dots on both cheeks right outside the white hairs. He has an interrupted white sock on his front left leg, and an irregular white stocking on his front right leg, both of which lead to grey striped hooves. His back hooves are dark blue. His horn is this same shade of blue, fading to grey at the base and tip. His mane and tail are gray except for his forelock, which is a dark blue that matches his beard. His right eye is a robin's egg blue and his left eye is chocolate brown.
Personality: He is a very arrogant and prideful stallion, stemming from years of people telling him he's handsome. He likes to be a trouble maker and can be rude, but does his best to make others think he's not; he can come across as charming and well-mannered when he means to, which is usually around the mares. When not trying to seduce a mare he can be very hard-headed, and takes offense easily, being especially sensitive at the fact that he's possibly sterile. He is more inclined than his twin to think things through, and understands the consequences of his reactions. Most of the time he doesn't care though, and will partake in reckless activities for the heck of it anyway. He feels very strongly about family bonds.
Background: Pollux was born in the Vale, along with his twin brother Castor, to Leda and Argo. The two colts were quite the trouble makers and grew up very close. They were very much alike and couldn’t be separated. However, not long before their initiation, Castor fell into a huge argument with their dam about something pointless. Being stubborn he left the Vale to go out and live among the Plains. Pollux, who had guiltily sided with their mother, stayed around the Vale for a little while longer. He soon grew listless, and found that he no longer enjoyed pulling pranks or participating in any of the warrior training like he had when Castor had been around. His mother understood, and though sad to see the last of her foals leave, encouraged him to go out to the Plains, and find something to make him happy again. So, Pollux left, knowing that he really had every intention of finding his brother. After several months of traveling he still had not run across his brother, but instead fell upon a longdance. A pretty filly there distracted him for the night, and he rediscovered his love for picking up fillies. When that mare left him, he traveled in search of another mare, and after her another, and so on, and so forth. Even though he completed the dance with a good many mares, they would never end up in foal, and once they realized this would leave him for another stallion that would be able to fulfill their hope for a baby. Embarrassed at his possibility of being sterile, Pollux started leaving the mares first. He's gotten to the point where he rarely remember what the mare looks like a few days after he's left her, but he still throws in all the enthusiasm he has whenever trotting down the hill into a throng of Longdancers... yet, not without stopping briefly to see if he can spot a familiar brown and white spotted coat.
